8- MEASUREMENT OF MAGNETIC FLUX USING A FLUX METER
Aim :
To measure magnetic flux of permanent magnet and an electromagnet using a flux meter.
MATERIALS REQUIRED:
Digital flux meter, permanent magnet, electromagnet.
THEORY:
Flux meter is a instrument made by electronic integration principle and displays the magnetic flux digitally. It can test magnetic materials. It not only measure flux but also directly tests magnetic performance for the purpose of quality control. With the features of legible display and convenient operation, it is an ideal device for the flux measurement.
PROCEDURE:
- Give power supply to the digital flux meter by connecting its plug to the supply.
- Lead of the flux meter make in contact with the magnet, where the flux to be measured.
- Note down the reading and identify the polarity of the given magnet.
